Kathina è un festival buddista che viene alla fine del Vassa, il termine di tre mesi durante la stagione delle piogge
ritiro per i monaci buddisti Theravada. La stagione, durante il quale un monastero / tempio maggio
in possesso di un 'Kathina' festa. Si tratta di un lungo preperation mesi che inizia, dopo la luna piena di
l'undicesimo mese (generalmente in ottobre e novembre).
La cerimonia è Kathina tradizione che è stata mantenuta in buddista paesi

Kathina is a Buddhist festival which comes at the end of Vassa, the three-month rainy season
retreat for Theravada Buddhists monks. The season, during which a monastery / temple may
hold a 'Kathina' festival. It is a month long preperation that begins, after the full moon of
the eleventh month (usually October and November).
The Kathina ceremony is tradition which has been maintained in Buddhist countries for
over 2000 years. And it is therefore intimately tied up with the traditional culture of each
country. Buddhist lay people try to maintain this tradition in their foreign country of
residency, with the help of a Buddhist monk. At the same it is an opportunity for the lay
people to gather in the temple and practice the Dhamma in various ways. It is a time of
giving, for the laity to express gratitude to monks. Lay Buddhists bring donations to
temples, especially new robes for the monks.
